Weaveworks Founder talks K8s, future of CNCF
Weaveworks Founder and CEO Alexis Richardson will kick off the week with a talk at the Red Hat OpenShift Commons Gathering March 28 at 1:30 p.m. Co-located with CloudNativeCon + KubeCon Europe, the Open Shift Common Gathering draws more than 200 developers looking to explore and secure container technologies. Alexis’ talk will address the next chapter for Cloud Native and Kubernetes.
Alexis will deliver a keynote talk to start day two of CloudNativeCon + KubeCon, Thursday, March 30 at 9:10 a.m. Representing the board of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), Alexis will discuss the organization’s accomplishments in advancing Cloud Native technologies, and plans for the future. At a time when the microservices industry is rapidly evolving, Alexis will address the current landscape and what it means to be Cloud Native.
Hear from the Weaveworks team on Prometheus and more
Alexis won’t be the only Weaveworks team member with something to say during the conference — two of our engineers will give talks covering Prometheus as well as personal projects. Both talks are Wednesday, March 29.
David Kaltschmidt, Director of Software Engineering, UI/UX, will discuss ways to build your own user interfaces for Prometheus. David’s talk, Grafana is Not Enough: DIY User Interfaces for Prometheus, will also present small UI building blocks that assist with PromQL queries to guide you to the right data faster.
Director of Software Engineering Tom Wilkie will present a distributed tracer prototype he’s developed as a personal project. During his talk, Loki: An Open Source Zipkin/Prometheus Mashup, Written in Go, Tom will discuss the advantages of using this method, which includes a consistent naming topology within Prometheus.
