Adding GitOps Into Your Service Mesh to Avoid a Service Mess

March 15th, 2022: 1pm PT | 4pm ET | 8pm GMT

Using GitOps, all manifests are managed in a Git repository. This provides a full audit trail and the ability to quickly roll back to a previously known good configuration. The constant reconciliation loop of GitOps eliminates configuration drift, enhancing stability. With all operations being performed via Git with Pull Requests, the number of people who require direct access to Kubernetes is significantly reduced, enhancing security.

Join Daniel Wessels, Field Engineer-APAC, Solo.io and Steve Waterworth, Weaveworks Technical Marketing Manager as they discuss and demonstrate how GitOps can be used for continuous deployment of service mesh entities. They will be showcasing Weave GitOps for configuring and maintaining Istio using GlooMesh.

Securing GitOps Debug Access with Pinniped, Dex, and GitHub

March 16th, 2022: 10am PT | 1pm ET | 5pm UTC

Git alone provides a pretty mediocre inner-loop for deployment to a cluster -- Git is powerful for collaboration, but it’s not a debugger.

However, git platforms can still add value for debugging!

Roles and group membership are usually weaved into the habits teams build around git repos. This can be combined within the authentication and authorization systems used in a multi-cluster Kubernetes platform!

In this live demo, Leigh will show how the incredibly flexible, open-source combo of Flux, Pinniped, and Dex can empower a team to leave a traceable solution during a production incident. Let’s explore effective team debugging habits with Kubernetes and git.

Weaveworks x DevOps.com: Kubernetes Governance

March 21st, 2022: 10am PT | 1pm ET | 5pm UTC

Governance refers to the ability of operations teams to verify and enforce certain rules across departments, groups or the entire organization. In the Kubernetes context, that means enforcing rules across Kubernetes clusters as well as applications running in those clusters.

Join Weaveworks’ VP of Developer Platforms, Mohamed Ahmed and a panel of experts as they discuss the current Kubernetes governance landscape and ways in which organizations can—and should—approach what has become a critical element in successful Kubernetes adoption.

Featured Speakers:

  • Mohamed Ahmed, VP of Developer Platforms - Weaveworks
  • Justin McCarthy, CTO & Co-Founder - StrongDM
  • Ritesh Patel, Co-Founder and VP of Product - Nirmata
  • Rachel Sweeney, Insights Enablement Engineer - Fairwinds

Manage with Ease: Application Portability on EKS with Weave GitOps

March 23rd, 2022: 10am PT | 1pm ET | 5pm UTC

As organizations continue to adopt Kubernetes as a platform for a growing diversity of containerized workloads, the number of clusters, applications and environments that must be managed and into which applications must be delivered is rapidly increasing in complexity.

In this webinar, you will learn how to:

  • reduce complexity so a small team can manage large fleets of clusters running in diverse cloud providers as well as on premise
  • make it easy for your development teams to deliver their applications securely and consistently, regardless of the target environment

Featured Speaker: Leo Murillo, Principal Solutions Architect - Weaveworks
