Progressive Delivery across clouds and service meshes using Weave Flagger with Service Mesh Hub and SuperGloo

May 15, 2019

Weave Flagger is now integrated with SuperGloo. That means, you can download Weave Flagger from Solo.io’s Service Mesh Hub, a mesh extension catalogue and instantly have progressive delivery capabilities with the service mesh of your choice.

We are excited that Solo.io’s team is announcing its Service Mesh Hub built on top of SuperGloo, the service mesh orchestrator. We are doubly excited because Weave Flagger is part of the Mesh Extensions Catalog. This gives users progressive delivery capabilities with the service mesh of their choice!

What does this mean for users?

The Service Mesh Hub simplifies the experience for users needing to install, manage, and operate their service meshes. The new Service Mesh Hub Extensions Catalog lets end users extend their environment with a mesh aware recommendation engine and extensions installer.

Weave Flagger is a Kubernetes operator that automates the promotion of canary deployments using Istio, App Mesh or NGINX routing for traffic shifting and Prometheus metrics for canary analysis.

With Weave Flagger users can add progressive delivery capabilities (canary, A/B, Blue/Green, etc.) to any service mesh managed by the Service Mesh Hub. Users can follow the current instructions to integrate SuperGloo and Weave Flagger, or starting today they can select Weave Flagger from the Service Mesh Hub.
