Lucas presented at KubeCon EU and discussed what a production ready cluster is and how this depends largely on your goals and budget. He dives into some of the technical aspects of getting your cluster production ready by looking at security and in particular TLS certificates, and what high availability actually means. He wraps up by providing an overview of a GitOps approach to cluster management that is currently being discussed in the Cluster Lifecycle SIG.
In another recap from KubeCon EU, we give you a roundup of a selection of Lightning Talks from across the week. From L7 load balancing without a service mesh, to how to use Jaeger and Prometheus to deliver lightning-fast user queries, there's sure to be something that piques your interest.
Next up on our roster is Damien Lespiau, Software Engineer who is helping define what the future of containers looks like at Weaveworks and (according to him) has spent way too much time playing with Linux over the past 20 years. You can find him exploring “The Untapped Power of Services - L7 Load Balancing Without a Service Mesh” at his talk at KubeCon Europe this year.
Next up in our "meet the team" series is Bryan Boreham, Director of Software Engineering, helicopter pilot and theatre enthusiast! Bryan is a maintainer on the CNI project, and also works on Weave Cortex, a scalable multi-tenant back-end for Prometheus. You can find him at KubeCon where he’ll be delivering a few talks over the week, or you can find him at the Weaveworks booth (S-C09).
Next up in our “Meet the team” blog series, is Lili Cosic who recently joined us as a Software Engineer based in Berlin. Lili is currently working on improving the user experience of our SaaS product, Weave Cloud, but she’s also a lover of comedy and foodie explorer.
Meet Daniel Holbach, who joined us recently as Community Manager on the DX Team. Daniel is a software developer and will use his experience at Ubuntu to head up community events and meetups in both London and Berlin. He is also a Developer Advocate for Weave Cloud and for the Weaveworks’ Open Source Projects: Flux, Scope, Cortex and Net.
Next up in our "meet the team" blog series is Stefan Prodan, another one of our super talented Developer Experience Engineers. He spends most of his time here at Weaveworks integrating and testing different open source projects with Weave Cloud and blogging about it. He’s passionate about all things Cloud Native, programs in Golang and has a soft spot for Prometheus as well as OpenFaaS serverless technology -- where he is a core contributor.
Continuing with our "meet the team" blog series, we introduce Ilya Dmitrichenko. Ilya is one of our talented DX engineers at Weaveworks who spends a lot of his time seeking out new technology and coming up with innovative workflows that end up in our products. In addition to this, Ilya is also a CNCF ambassador and is a presenter and one of the creators of the Kubernetes Office Hours
This is the first post in our ‘Meet the Team’ blog series. We will be showcasing some of the Weaveworks’ team who are attending, speaking and teaching at the upcoming CNCF KubeCon held in Copenhagen. First up is Brice Fernandes - software engineer, entrepreneur and instructor.
