November 27, 2018

San Francisco & AWS reInvent, Las Vegas – 27th of November, 2018 Weaveworks, a company that helps technology teams build and operate cloud native infrastructure and applications, announced today that it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Container Competency status. This designation recognizes that Weaveworks offers Weave Cloud on AWS and that it provides support to run workloads on containers. Weave Cloud integrates with AWS services in a way that improves the AWS customers' ability to run workloads on containers. It helps optimize orchestration and scheduling, infrastructure, application build/test and application deployment on containers, monitoring & logging, security, or networking of containers.

Achieving the AWS Container Competency differentiates Weaveworks as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member that provides specialized demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success with specific focus on workloads based on Monitoring & Logging. To receive the designation, APN Partners must possess deep AWS expertise and deliver solutions seamlessly on AWS.

“Weaveworks is proud to have achieved AWS Container Competency status after working closely with the AWS team on multiple container and Kubernetes projects. Our open source collaboration on eksctl is one of those wonderful projects that came to life through sharing deep expertise for developers tools and passion from the developer community. ” said Alexis Richardson, CEO at Weaveworks, “Our team is dedicated to helping companies to become cloud native and we recognize the agility, breadth of services, and pace of innovation that AWS provides.”

AWS is enabling scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from startups to global enterprises. To support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify Consulting and Technology APN Partners with deep industry experience and expertise.

Weaveworks has a global team of experienced SREs (Site Reliability Engineers) who manage Cloud Native applications with Kubernetes on AWS’ infrastructure as a production service since 2015. We are striving to minimize complexities in managing Kubernetes workloads and to provide a developer centric operating model built on git-based workflows (we call this GitOps). Weaveworks’ products and services combine Kubernetes’ best-in-class operational expertise with intuitive development tools for Continuous Delivery, Observability and Monitoring. We help software teams improve development velocity and increase reliability.

“Weave Cloud helped us build our new Kubernetes clusters with confidence. The Weaveworks team went above and beyond to make sure we have the right monitoring, but also helped us to determine a proper deployment pipeline.” said Jeroen Serpieters, Head of Engineering, Soho House
