Enterprise ready GitOps, developer approved
Weave Kubernetes Platform
GitOps is both the underlying architecture and developer experience of Weave Kubernetes Platform (WKP) simplifying the configuration and management of Kubernetes platforms across your organization. Benefit from repeatable, flexible Kubernetes operations across a wide range of environments from cloud and on-prem data centers to edge based clusters.
See 2.4 release featuresHow Weave Kubernetes Platform Works
GitOps is the gold standard for Kubernetes operating models, centralizing every aspect of cloud-native development, operations, and lifecycle management without sacrificing the flexibility to adapt to unique organizational needs. GitOps is both the underlying architecture and developer experience of Weave Kubernetes Platform (WKP). It enables enterprises to safely use Kubernetes across a variety of software teams in a multitenant set-up that delivers application portability across all public clouds and hybrid deployments. WKP incorporates the most innovative open source projects in the Cloud Native Computing Foundation and ensures production grade stability, resiliency and business critical enterprise features.

Features
NEW: Collaboration with team workspaces
Accelerate collaboration, increase development velocity and reduce governance overhead with segment responsibilities and enforced change control policies.
NEW: Application portability & fleet management
Deploy the same application into many different clusters even across cloud and hybrid environments, allowing change deployments across the fleet via Git.
NEW: Kubernetes anywhere
Reduce complexity with GitOps and install across all major target environments including support for on-premise, hybrid, and multi-cloud Kubernetes clusters.
Curated open source platform
Create a complete Kubernetes platform that combines pure upstream open source Kubernetes from a curated set of platform components with GitOps. WKP’s component based approach covers everything from storage, and networking through to monitoring and management.
Pure upstream innovation
WKP supports, secures and manages upstream Kubernetes and also integrates with managed options such as EKS. Since WKP doesn’t rely on forked or diverged versions, easily patch, upgrade and update cluster add-ons and Kubernetes with GitOps.
Security and policy
Operate Kubernetes securely and reliably to easily meet business compliance regulations. With policy and rule-based GitOps workflows, specify, audit and control who can change what to the Kubernetes configuration.
Instant dashboards and GitOps alerts
Gain a single view of the health and state of the cluster and its workloads. Configure dashboards to send alerts when either a cluster state or a workload state has changed.
Enterprise integration
Agility doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Gain advice on integrating Kubernetes into existing systems to ease migration. Navigate the constraints of enterprise systems as Weaveworks helps you steer the right course.
Critical 24/7 support
Your business and workloads operate around the clock and so do we. Our team operates 24/7 so whenever there’s a problem our experts are there to help. Operate with confidence - we’ve got your back!

We would recommend WKP which allowed us to own and manage our infrastructure while building a consistent technical bridge to a client-facing cloud presence. Having worked with the Weaveworks client success team for our cluster deployments, service testing, specific use cases to deploy configuration changes and management of in-place upgrades, we are genuinely impressed with their organizational dedication to our success.
FAQs
What’s covered in the Weave Kubernetes Platform?
The platform includes support for installing Kubernetes and operating a cluster as well as Kubernetes components and services such as networking, storage, ingress, secrets and templating. See the WKP datasheet for additional details.
What makes it different?
Weaveworks experience and skillset resides in operating Kubernetes as a production system. From those experiences a set of workflows to install, upgrade and run Kubernetes in production environments, known as GitOps was developed. Combine Weave Kubernetes Platform with our application management solution, Weave Cloud to get a complete system for developing and running Kubernetes-based workloads.
What Cloud platforms does Weave Kubernetes Platform support?
Run open source Kubernetes on AWS, GCP and Azure or use WKP with managed Kubernetes like GKE and EKS. WKP also supports customers who are using other public clouds such as Digital Ocean but its installation and setup is unvalidated.
How can you help with Amazon’s EKS, Google’s GKE or Microsofts AKS?
Managed Kubernetes from Amazon, Google and Microsoft remove the operations drag of building and updating core Kubernetes. Teams who need to run Kubernetes or who need to provide application infrastructure - the Weaveworks expert team can provide advice on specifying the right policies troubleshooting service problems.
How do you support on-premises installs of Kubernetes?
For enterprise customers who need to deploy Kubernetes in their datacenter, WKP installs pure upstream Kubernetes on Ubuntu or RedHat.
How is pure, open source Kubernetes supported?
Kubernetes and the Cloud Native landscape are moving very fast with a constant flow of new features. Weaveworks feels that the best version of Kubernetes to use is the pure upstream version, where the last two major release streams (e.g. 10.x and 9.x) are supported ensuring customers can progressively upgrade and quickly take advantage of new features.
Will WKP support integrating Kubernetes with other vendors?
Many customers have existing investments across networking, storage and other enterprise technology. Weaveworks works with customers to integrate Kubernetes with their existing systems. Where an issue is caused by an interaction between Kubernetes and another vendors system, as long as both elements are under an appropriate support contract, Weaveworks will work with both the customer and the third-party vendor to resolve.
How does it work if I have both a development and production cluster?
As long as the development cluster size is below 8 nodes then the price is 12,000 USD. The price for a production system is 3,000 USD per node, depending on the size of the cluster.
Will you install Kubernetes for customers?
Weaveworks can design, install and set-up Kubernetes clusters’ for customers as professional services engagements. Combined with Kubernetes quickstart and training programs, customers can fast track and accelerate the cloud native journey.
