What’s covered in Weave GitOps Enterprise?

What makes it different?

Weaveworks experience and skillset resides in operating Kubernetes as a production system. From those experiences a set of workflows to install, upgrade and run Kubernetes in production environments, known as GitOps was developed. Combine Weave GitOps Enterprise with our application management solution, Weave Cloud to get a complete system for developing and running Kubernetes-based workloads.

What Cloud platforms does Weave GitOps Enterprise support?

Run open source Kubernetes on AWS, GCP and Azure or use GitOps Enterprise with managed Kubernetes like GKE and EKS. Weave GitOps Enterprise also supports customers who are using other public clouds such as Digital Ocean but its installation and setup is unvalidated. 

How can you help with Amazon’s EKS, Google’s GKE or Microsofts AKS?

Managed Kubernetes from Amazon, Google and Microsoft remove the operations drag of building and updating core Kubernetes. How do you support on-premises installs of Kubernetes?

For enterprise customers who need to deploy Kubernetes in their datacenter,  Weave GitOps Enterprise installs pure upstream Kubernetes on Ubuntu or RedHat. 

How is pure, open source Kubernetes supported?

Kubernetes and the Cloud Native landscape are moving very fast with a constant flow of new features. Weaveworks feels that the best version of Kubernetes to use is the pure upstream version, where the last two major release streams are supported ensuring customers can progressively upgrade and quickly take advantage of new features.

Will Weave GitOps Enterprise support integrating Kubernetes with other vendors?

Many customers have existing investments across networking, storage and other enterprise technology. Weaveworks works with customers to integrate Kubernetes with their existing systems. Where an issue is caused by an interaction between Kubernetes and another vendors system, as long as both elements are under an appropriate support contract, Weaveworks will work with both the customer and the third-party vendor to resolve. 

How does it work if I have both a development and production cluster?

As long as the development cluster size is below 8 nodes then the price is 12,000 USD. The price for a production system is 3,000 USD per node, depending on the size of the cluster. Learn more on the product overview
